City Guide: 72 Hours in Nantucket

This tiny island off the coast of Cape Cod has been my beloved oasis ever since I have lived in the Northeast. There is something about this pristine place that makes me feel at home although I am 2,000 miles away. All the shingle homes are perfectly aligned with adorable widow walks, delicious lobster shacks along the miniature streets, the local shops with surprisingly beautiful jewelry and the fresh sea-to-table cuisine are a few of the things that makes me fall in love with this place over and over again.

Thursday:

1:00pm- Check-in to The White Elephant Hotel or at the White Elephant Cottages and Residences for a more intimate feel. The cottages and residences are the perfect place to stay if you want to feel at home on the island, the location is unbeatable.

If you want something less expensive, try the oldest Inn in Massachusetts, The Jared Coffin House. The interiors have been completely redone turning it into a typical New England charming Inn with modern amenities.

And since I like to save the best for last, The Wauwinet is hands-down my favorite place to stay in while in Nantucket (for our full article, click here). This home-y yet elegant Inn has is 10 minutes away from tall the hussle and bussle, so perfect for a romantic getaway , and a home run if you want to impress your date.

3:00pm- Take out a Sunfish, or small sail-boat for the non-sailors, and sail around the small harbor of Nantucket.

8:00pm– Dinner at my favorite restaurant, Topper’s. It is located at The Wauwinet Hotel, so if you are not staying there, the 10-minute drive might make you think twice about dining there… well don’t think about it, trust me and just go. The food is self-indulgent and the service is the best in town. Insiders tip: Order the Diver Scallop Ceviche, the Hand Rolled Ricotta Cavatelli and the Butter Poached Lobster.

10:00pm- Grab a drink at Cisco Brewers. Drop in after a long day at the beach for their local wine and flagship microbrew, Whale’s Tale Pale Ale.

11:30am- Rent a bike at Young’s Bicycle Shop, right next to the main port. If you have time and you are up for a beautiful yet challenging ride, bike to Sconset (about 19 miles round trip) and stop by the Wauwinet located along the way, for a cold glass of Rosé.

1:00pm- Have a well deserved lunch at The Nantucket Lobster Trap. It is a traditional and casual shack serving the biggest and most delicious lobsters I have ever had.

R-Nantucket-The-Nantucket-Lobster-Trap-02-620x413

2:00pm- Whatever you do, do not miss The Juice Bar. Just around the corner from The Lobster trap, you will find the most famous ice creams parlor in town.

nantucket_juice_bar_gluten_free

4:00pm- Usually after a big workout and big lunch, my day is practically over (until dinner). If you still have energy left, I suggest you walk around town and do some damage to your card. My favorite jewelry store is called Patina, a few steps away from Black Eyed Susan.

8:00pm– Dinner at the Company of the Cauldron. I don’t feel I am in Nantucket until dine at this superb restaurant. With an unassuming and cozy environment, this true Nantucket restaurant takes local cuisine to a gourmet level. Keep in mind that the menu is a set menu.

City Guide: 72 Hours in Boston

Spending every summer on Cape Cod since I can remember gave me a chance to experience the best of New England. I’ve always loved Boston (maybe not as much in the winter) because the food is hearty, the weather is warm, and the people are beyond friendly. Some of my favorite childhood memories are in Boston: going to Red Sox games, having my first lobster roll, and taking a family boat ride down the Charles River.

Here are some of my favorite places to eat, see, and do while you’re in Beantown. Although you can’t ever go wrong with the tourist attractions, we’ve added some local secrets to keep you entertained.

Thursday:

1:00pm- Check-in to the XV Beacon, arguably the coolest hotel in Boston, XV Beacon combines 1903 Beaux Arts architecture with a modern design in the heart of downtown Boston. It is my favorite place to stay in this grand old city and I’m sure it’ll be yours too.

For a more classic elegance, check-in to the Mandarin Oriental, located in the fashionable Back Bay neighborhood of Boston.

boston-2014-exterior boston-2014-fine-dining-bar-boulud-bar-01boston-room-mandarin-back-bay-room

2:00pm- Have a quick lunch at Neptune Oyster Bar. There are long lines at dinner so the best time to go is during the off hours.

neptune-oyster-seafood-restaurant-north-end-boston

3:00pm- Take a stroll around the Boston Commons, a beautiful public park in downtown Boston. The park is confined by some of Boston’s most famous streets such as Beacon Street, Tremont Street, and Park Street.

boston-common-in-autumn-john-burk

8:00pm- Dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant, Sorellina. Located in Boston’s historic Copley Square, Sorellina creates a modern twist on classic Italian dishes. Insider Tip: The Spaghetti tastes like it was cooked in the Mediterranean, then brought to Boston.

Sorellina

10:00pm- Drinks at Brick & Mortar. Head up the not-s-special stairs to find a cool, exposed-brick type bar with some of the best cocktails in town. Must-try: The shooters.

2:00pm- Kayak on the Charles River with Paddle Boston. In the summer, this cool activity will keep you refreshed and give you a chance to see Boston in a different way.

Not into physical activity? Rent a boat and take a sunset cruise down the Charles River with family and friends. The tour passes by Harvard and many other tourist attractions.

8:00pm– Dinner at Menton, the best restaurant in town. It is high-end and on the expensive side, but you won’t find a more delicious restaurant in town. Head-chef and owner is the famous Bostonian chef Barbara Lynch.

10:00pm- Dance your dinner off at The Estate, a nightclub that feels fit for a king or queen with baroque-accented mirrors, chandeliers, fireplaces, and marble throughout this expansive two-story club.

Saturday:

10:00am- One of the best-kept brunch secrets is Masa, in the South End of Boston, offers the best brunch special imaginable. Their “Brunch Fiesta” costs about $10 (AFTER tip) for limitless coffee and two courses of delicious brunch with complimentary corn bread to boot.

Sunday

10:00am – Finish your weekend with Sunday brunch at one of the two of the best spots in Savannah, both of which reserve their famous brunches for Sunday mornings.  Try Soho South Cafe – a super hip spot that was once a mechanic garage and is now a gallery as much as it is a restaurant. Get the brioche french toast, shrimp and grits if  you’re going for something Southern, or the homemade split biscuit with scrambled eggs and grits.

Another option is the Driftaway Cafe; try the Crab Cake Bennie, a Southern spin on eggs benedict and it will melt in your mouth.  If you want something sweet, get  the Myers Jamaican Rum french toast or the Sunday Fried Chicken.

City Guide: 72 Hours in Charleston

For the month of March, we decided to feature the top up-and-coming cities in the U.S. Condé Nast has rated Charleston as the “Top City in the U.S.” three years in a row, and once you’ve visited it’s easy to see why. When I picture the quintessential charming Southern city, I picture Charleston. With cobble-stoned streets and so much heritage and culture, it is no wonder that it’s one of Posh Voyage’s favorite cities in not only the U.S., but the world.

We have put together a hour-by-hour schedule of the chicest,  most luxurious, and quaintest places in Charleston. To see all of our favorite fashion pics from Charleston check out the shop below!

8:30 pm Dine at the hotel restaurant, Zero Café+ BarThe a-la-carte menu is approachable, hyper-seasonal, and features the freshest herbs and vegetables from the on-site kitchen garden. No wonder Zero George was name a “Top Foodie Hotel” by Condé Nast.

City Guide: 72 Hours in Denver

For the month of March, we decided to feature the top up-and-coming cities in the U.S. Denver is the #1 most moved-to city by college grads. With it’s wild wild west history, Denver has evolved in a metropolitan cowboy city. There are so many reasons why you should love Denver: it’s full of young people, it has great outdoors activities, and without sacrificing the cool city vibe. Posh Voyage loves Denver because it is the perfect mix of outdoors and refinement, classy yet funky.

We have put together a hour-by-hour city guide of the coolest, yummiest, and most attention-grabbing places in Denver. To see all of our favorite fashion from Denver check out the shop below!

City Guide: 72 Hours in Dallas

For the month of March, we decided to feature the top up-and-coming cities in the U.S. Dallas is by far one of the most rapidly expanding and growing cities I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. When most people think Texas, they think cattle ranches, flat land, BBQ, and beer, but Dallas is far more Metropolitan that people think. The City-Planners have big ideas to expand Dallas into a walking city, with more pop-up gardens and parks around every corner of the big D.

If Dallas isn’t on your radar to visit, think again. We have also included a great packing guide for Dallas at the bottom of the article! Here are some of our favorite places, experiences, and things about Dallas.

2:00 pm- Check-in to our favorite hotel in Dallas, The Joule. It is a renovated 1920’s landmark building in the heart of Downtown Dallas. The Joule has a modern luxury with contemporary art from artists such as Andy Warhol, Tony Cragg, and Adam Fuss. Helpful hint: Ask to stay in the new tower.

For another more contemporary option, The Ritz-Carlton is located on upper Mckinney Street, walking distance from some of the best bars and restaurants in Dallas. Stay at The Crescent if you are in town for business given that their location is prime. However, their rooms need a little facelift. The Crescent also has my favorite clothing store, Stanley Korshack, just a few steps away.

5:00 pm- Take a stroll around Downtown Dallas, there are many cute little shops and funny art pieces scattered around the city. Their newly opened Klyde Warren Park is the perfect place to people watch and have a delicious meal. If you are feeling a little more active, join their free weekend yoga classes, they are amazing.

If you still have time on your side, head over to my two favorite museums just a few blocks away from the park, the Ritz and the Crescent: The Nasher Museum and the DMA.

8:30 pm Looking for a delicious spot for dinner? If you’re ready to hop right in to Texan cuisine, dine at CBD Provisions, located in The Joule Hotel. Their infused cocktails are superb. Order the chili.

If you are looking for a more casual all american menu, try their new restaurant Americano. I cannot stop going and ordering their meatballs, fried olives, their pepperoni pizza and branzino.

11:00 pm- For some after dinner drinks downtown, head to the Midnight Rambler for some craft cocktails, also located at The Joule Hotel.

If you’re looking to take the party to a more upbeat place, Thursday nights’ at The Candle Room go till 3am.

Friday:

9:00 am- Stop for coffee and a delicious breakfast at Mercat, my favorite French Bistro in all of Dallas. Their latte’s and quiche Lorraine are mouth-watering.

11:30 am- Check out the Dallas Museum of Art downtown. It has some of the most forward-thinking and rare art exhibitions around.

23846101_BG1

If you’re in the mood for something more interactive, my favorite place to be enlightened is the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. Be forewarned, this place gets packed quickly, by tickets ahead of time.

1:00 pm-  In the mood to shop? Forty-Five Ten has been rated nationally as some of the best shopping in the US, if you’re willing to pay the price.  They also have a tiny restaurant in the back called T Room, and it is where most of the Highland Park socialites hang out. Their Asian Noodle Salad is yummy!

Forty-Five-Ten-Exterior-1

4:00 pm-  Its tea time! Head back to The Joule for some high-tea at TASCHEN library in the lobby. The cute decorations and tiny decorated cake are straight of out Alice in Wonderland.

7:30 pm- For dinner head over to Le Bilboquet, it is the hottest restaurant in town. The restaurant is the first expansion from their New York location, mixing French charm and Texan vibes.

If you couldn’t get a reservation at Le Bilboquet, Fearing’s is great second option for an upscale experience, located in The Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

Lastly, if you are feeling adventurous head over to Bishop Arts and dine at Lucia. This is the best Italian in town. If you cannot get a reservation, try walking in and sitting at the bar. The restaurant only seats 30!

10:30 pm- No trip to Dallas would be complete without a pub crawl down McKinney Ave. Check out some of the most famous watering holes such as Renfield’s Corner, The Standard Pour, Trophy Room (ride the bull!).

Saturday:

10:00 am- You cannot come to Dallas without trying Chicken and Waffles. Gross, I know, but it is actually one of the weirdest and most delicious combinations I’ve ever had. Oddfellows in Bishop Arts is the favorite breakfast among the locals. If you still have a little bit of space, try a slice of an Emporium Pie, known as the best pies in town.

12:00 pm-  A trip to Dallas would not be the same without a little day-drinking, a Texan’s second favorite past time! Star by walking the Katy Trail on down to the Katy Trail Ice House where all Dallasites will be on a Saturday afternoon, even if the weather doesn’t cooperate.

KatyTrailIceHouse

If you’re more of a music-lover and less into sports, head to The Rustic for some live music and some great cocktails!

garretthall_therustic10

7:00pm- After freshening up at the hotel, wander around Highland Park Village for some window shopping. A few of my favorite stores are Carolina Herrera, Vince, Rag & Bone, and Stella McCartney, to name a few.

Highland Park Village'

8:30 pm- Enjoy the fine-dining of one of the best restaurants in Dallas, Bistro 31.  Known for its class and refined dining, there is no better way to end your stay in the beautiful Dallas.

If you want a restaurant that is equally elegant, but want a little more daring cuisine, head to Abacus and order the lobster shooters, it’s what their famous for.

10:30PM- After dinner, walk upstairs to Bistro 31’s 31 Lounge, an exquisite champagne bar with over 20 types of champagne. You will be rubbing shoulders with Dallas’ elite.

12:00pm- Walk over to Klyde Warren Park, one of the most fun places to be on a warm sunny Sunday afternoon. Listen to some free live music and watch performers in the park. If you have time before you leave, grab a bite to eat at at one of the many food trucks surrounding the park.

City Guide: 72 Hours in Whistler

Having a little Canadian blood in me, my family and I would always make the trek up from Vancouver to Whistler every winter. I have extremely fond memories of learning how to ski as a kid and eating some truly amazing meals (this was even in my super-picky food eating phase).

Whistler is the perfect combination of homey and elegance. While it may be less modern, the skiing is second to none and the family-friendly atmosphere will put both you and the kids in a great mood.

Thursday:

11:00 am- Check into The Fairmont Chateau Whistler. The hotel is full of classical beauty, whether you are staying there in the winter or summer, the hotel accommodates for each season in an elegant way. But, there is no place like The Fairmont during Christmas, the great hall is decked with wreaths and christmas lights everywhere.

The Fairmont WhistlerThe Fairmont Whistler

If you‘d rather stay in a private accommodation, Big Horn Whistler is the best chalet around. The impressive timber-framed building was designed with indulgence in mind. The triple height great room, with its roaring log fire, is the perfect setting for canapés, or just for winding down after a day of skiing.

home_gallery_3 home_gallery_5

2:00 pm- Grab your ski gear and head to the slopes! Remember you’re only here for 72 hours, you can’t miss one minute of that new fluffy powdered snow.

5:00 pm- Stop at Merlin’s Bar & Grill for an après-ski drink, located at the base of Blackcomb Mountain. Merlin’s home-away-from-home vibe is just one small part of the reason that après sessions here can be so off-the-hook. Opt for the nachos and a beer on tap.

2-4818-2

7:30 pm- Head to Bearfoot Bistro for the best oysters + champagne pairing in town. This is also great for après -ski where the oysters are $9.95 for the dozen. Or, if you’re in the mood for cooked fish, eat at Araxiresh seafood is a star here, including the multi-tiered seafood towers. Alongside the urban shine, Araxi offers a little ski town warmth, like the après-ski bar special fondue. Pair it with their bourbon on the rocks.

SLi_Araxi_Int_4535-2

11:00 pm- Brandy’s at the Keg is the place to be on a Friday night. During the summer and winter, a DJ spins on Friday and Saturday nights. Try the Billy Miner Pie, an exquisite combination of mocha ice cream, hot fudge, caramel and sliced almonds, to satisfy the late night munchies. It’s a Brandy’s tradition.

Saturday:

10:00 am- Have breakfast at Pure Bread. Even those from Vancouver will make the trek all the way up to Whistler to have some of their freshly baked goods. Pair a cup-of-joe with one of their fluffy scones and you’ll be happy as a clam.

4:30pm- Saturday is perfect for Garibaldi Lift Company (GLC).  Après-ski drinks is their bread-and-butter, and boy do they make an event out of it. World-renowned as “the” place to après, the GLC lounge bar relishes its location above the Whistler Gondola building. Every day should end with beers, tall tales, and the potential of watching an amazing wipeout from the riders and skiers charging down their final run.

Thursday:

9:00 am- Check into The W Verbier. The W Hotel is only 2 years old, and from the looks if it, the service seems like it has been established for decades, and the design like it was open yesterday. The typical Swiss chalet with modern yet cozy interiors is perfectly  executed. Everything is built with light reclaimed wood and earth tones with a few pops of color.

W-Verbier-Exterior2 W-Verbier-WOW-Suite-Lounge2

If the W is not your style, The Lodge‘s architecture is as typical as it gets; Wooden chalet, wooden shutters, flowers in every balcony and a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog guarding the entrance. However, once you step in, the large fire place, gigantic sofas, fur throws and candles adorn the lodge in a casual yet chic way.

City Guide: 72-Hours in Buenos Aires

Posh Voyage partnered up with the fabulous Lesley Murphy, better known as the sweetheart contestant for the popular reality show The Bachelor to create the best 72-Hours in Buenos Aires Guide. After not finding love on the show, she moved to Buenos Aires where she later discovered her true love: Travel.

While in Argentina she started her South America Travel Blog, The Road Les Traveled. Combining my numerous voyages to Argentina with her expertise, we created the most spectacular city guide for travelers looking for the ultimate luxury experience while in BsAs.

Many say Buenos Aires is the Paris of Latin America. I say Buenos Aires is the Champs Elysees of Paris; elegant and sophisticated, with a splash of grandeur.

Everything about this city makes me fall in love with Buenos Aires over and over again. From the architecture to the food stands in Recoleta, these are the place to go if you are in need of a European getaway with a Latin twist, especially during the start of their Summer.

Thursday:

10:00am Check in at the Park Hyatt. It didn’t take me long after landing to discover the unique and regal Park Hyatt. This mansion was built in the Belle Époque era and belonged to an aristocratic family for many years, before becoming the Park Hyatt in 2002. This is one of the most enchanting buildings in Buenos Aires, so if you don’t plan on staying there, be sure to stop by for an afternoon tea on the hotel’s terrace.

Screen Shot 2014-10-14 at 3.47.11 PM Screen Shot 2014-10-14 at 3.46.52 PM

If you like a trendy and modern vibe during your stay, try the Faena Hotel. Designed by Philippe Starck, this is perfect hotel for contemporary travelers. Their rooms are exquisite, the Library Bar is gorgeous and the restaurants are eclectic and out of the ordinary. The only drawback is that it is in Puerto Madero, a relatively new development 10 minutes away from the city center.

If your cup of tea is a little bit more “boutique-y”, then Legado Mítico Hotel is the place for you. Before you arrive and choose your room, be sure to read about Argentine personalities as each of the 11 distinctive rooms encompasses a different one.

galeria-bsas_0002

Finally, if you enjoy feeling like a local, try Oasis Collections. They have the most spectacular selection of high-end apartment rentals all over the city. You also gain access to their small and quaint club house in Palermo Soho.

Thursday

Recoleta

11:00am Breakfast at the new adorable Four Seasons restaurant, El Secreto. Lesley from The Road Les Traveled couldn’t stop raving about the place: “The best part about the whole experience was the actual venue. Or maybe it was the chorizo. Or maybe it was Max, my friendly waiter. Hmm. Come to think of it, the best part about it was everything. Todo. Whatever the case, I’m about to let the world in on Four Seasons’ little secret”.

cq5dam.web.1280.720

1:00pm Explore Recoleta. Most affluent neighborhood in the city, it is also the oldest and most traditional area in BsAs.

2:00pm Lunch at Sottovoce. The place might not impress you at first, but sit tight until your burrata arrives, seafood pasta and home made lasagna. After that, I assure you this will be your go-to Italian spot during your stay. It’s okay to repeat restaurants in this case!

screen_shot_2012-12-11_at_4.25.50_pmscreen_shot_2012-12-11_at_4.25.08_pm

If you feel like something a little more French, try Croque Madame. The carrot and ginger soup is decadent.

screen_shot_2012-12-12_at_3.28.07_pm

3:00pm Next to Croque Madame you will find one of the most beautiful museums in Buenos Aires, Museo Nacional de Arte Decorativo.

5:00pm Visit the most famous site in Argentina, the Cemetery. These are not your average tombs, they are big and lavish. It servers as the resting place for Argentina’s most important personalities, among them possibly the most famous is Eva Peron.

Screen Shot 2014-10-15 at 11.39.28 AM

8:00pm Dinner at Tomo 1. I need to start by saying that the best sommelier in Argentina is in this very restaurant, so be ready for an off-the-charts wine tasting experience. Chef Ada Concaro has astonished diners from all over the globe with discerning palate by mixing her Italian and French roots with an Argentine savor.

screen_shot_2012-12-12_at_3.21.23_pm

10:00pm Head over to Million or Gran Bar Danzon for a few drinks before calling it a night. If you still have some energy, head over to the famous nightclub, Shampoo.

Friday:

Palermo Soho

12:00pm Walk around Palermo Soho. The most fashionable neighborhood in Buenos Aires

1:00pm Japan and Peru had a baby and named her Osaka. Who doesn’t love Peruvian-Japanese fusion? Excellent sushi and ceviche oozes out of this beautiful restaurant, perfect for a romantic date, business meeting or group dinner. It’s so diverse that anybody can find what they’re looking for here. Order the white fish in leche de tigre, Osaka Roll, fried king crab and king crab salad in a fukimaki roll, or the Kobe beef, served raw with a Japanese mustard butter and spring onion. The prices are well worth the quality cuisine and service.

screen_shot_2012-12-11_at_3.28.50_pm

Feel like a true Argentine Bife de Chorizo instead? Then head for lunch at La Cabrera. Touristy? Yes. Gimmicky? A little. Delicious? Absolutely. Tried and true? Definitely. This restaurant may be touristy, but that doesn’t take away from it’s scrumptious menu. From the Argentine steaks to the chorizo to the various side orders, you won’t go wrong with La Cabrera. Although you’ll leave full and happy, your wallet will most likely be much lighter than when you walked in the place.

screen_shot_2012-12-12_at_3.29.54_pm screen_shot_2012-12-12_at_3.30.20_pm

3:00pm Walk around Plaza Armenia. The plaza has artisanal vendors scattered all around. After shopping you can go relax at the park while looking at the bustling city from afar.

Screen Shot 2014-10-15 at 11.36.29 AM

8:00pm Dinner at I Latina. If you’re a foodie, you can’t miss out on what’s behind closed doors. It’s time to open your eyes, mind and mouth for the unique Argentine take on dinner. All about blurring the lines between a licensed eatery and a dinner party, these gastronomical experiences are held in unadvertised locals. I Latina will transport you to Colombia with its fixed 7 course dinner. Voted #1 of 2,336 restaurants in Buenos Aires on TripAdvisor, I’d say this is a sure bet on a good night. Bring a large handful of pesos with you, and leave with a much lighter wallet to sleep off that food baby.

10:00pm If you didn’t have enough fun Thursday night, our top bars around Palermo Soho are Post Street Bar, Rio Cafe and Thames 878.

Saturday:

Palermo Hollywood

10:00am Breakfast at Oui Oui. The “Gallo” is amazing with their homemade granola plus yogurt! The medialunas are also mouthwatering.

Oui-Oui-3

11:00am Walk around Palermo Hollywood. The epicenter for great restaurants, boutiques and local designers.

2:00pm Lunch at Don Julio. The best steak in Buenos Aires (bold statement) can be found right here at Don Julio. With people acting like nothing short of wild beasts to get a table here, you should go ahead and make a reservation before trying to dine among quality beef and delectable wine. Your taste buds will thank you after. If you’re lucky, you’ll be handed a bottle of wine for your autograph on the way out that will adorn the walls of the popular eatery. The place is surrounded by bottles and bottles of drunk wine from patrons past – which lets you know you’re in good company.

don-julio

8:00pm Dinner at Fukuro. An amazing switch up to the Argentina steak is this noodle bar and pork bun eatery. The decor is funky and the owners are beyond friendly. The Argentine take on an ice cream sandwich is a must-try too. Secret ingredient that’s not so secret: Fernet! Order the #HuangBrother steamed buns with the #KeepItRealRamen noodles. I wouldn’t steer you wrong.

fukuro-noodle-bar

Another great dinner spot is Azema Exotic Bistro. This bistro serves an innovative fusion of Creole, Caribbean, Vietnamese, and French cuisines… yes it might sound odd, but somehow it works extremely well. Order the Tandoori salmon.

10:00pm Drinks at Makena Cantina Club and Niceto Club.

Sunday:

Palermo Viejo/Nuevo

11:00am Brunch at Ninina. In the land of red meat and redder wine, it’s hard to find a good salad. This spot not only lures in passerbys with its stark white marble and chic copper lighting, but it goes one step further with providing kale – a green almost unheard of in Buenos Aires. Lesley: “If you’re in for something light, go for one of the many smoothies or juices on offer. You can’t go wrong with the pollo de granja grillado salad either. On the hungrier side? Find a friend and dive into the brunch”.

ninina-bakery

Another of Lesley’s favorite spots is In Bocca Al Lupo Cafe. According to Lesley, “This charming Italian cafe is a little slice of heaven. The coffee is strong but the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. It is so easy to return time and time again for breakfast meetings, lunch dates, coffee dates, all-day-work-day sessions. With a full menu of pastries, cakes, breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, homemade Italian food, complimentary wi-fi and an oh so inviting vibe. I can’t say enough good things”.

12:00pm Visit the most famous museum in Buenos Aires, MALBA. It features modern and contemporary Latin American art. After a few hours soaking up some art, walk over to the Botanical Garden. It’s only a short 20-minute walk.

aphoto49317

2:00pm Since you only have half a day left, take a cab over to Puerto Madero and explore the up and coming part of Buenos Aires. If you are hungry, have a quick bite at I Fresh Market, an artisanal sandwich shop or at D.F, a Mexican restaurant with the best taquitos al pastor.

8:00pm Dinner at Astrid & Gaston. Plain, good Peruvian food. Rated as one of the top 50 restaurants in the world by the Pellegrino rating. The ceviche is amazing.

screen_shot_2012-12-12_at_3.37.10_pm screen_shot_2012-12-12_at_4.23.20_pm

If you prefer to stay in Puerto Madero and want to finish the trip with a cherry on the top, Chila Restaurant is your stop. The French restaurant is flawless, I recommend doing the tasting menu.

screen_shot_2012-12-12_at_2.46.01_pm

Finally if you feel like something less stuffy and more exciting, try Asia de Cuba. It might have closed down in New York, but the Argentinians LOVE this place.

If you have more than 72 hours in Buenos Aires, do not miss San Thelmo. This is the oldest barrio in Buenos Aires, known for the charming cafes, tango parlors, cobblestone streets, trinket vendors and antique shops. Or stop by el Caminito, a colorful street in La Boca neighborhood famous for inspiring the world-renown Tango, El Caminito. Very touristy, but doesn’t get more Argentine than this!
