The Ranch at Rock Creek. Philipsburg, Montana

There are places where heaven just feels closer, and Ranch at Rock creek is one of them.

From the moment I arrived and opened my car door, I immediately started to breathe a different kind of air. Somehow the creek, pine trees, crisp wind, sage and thistle all blended together and gave me that perfect quintessential Montana scent.

For a few moments before walking into the Lobby, I just observed the trees swing with the wind, the birds chirping, horses galloping in the distance, rays of sun peaking through the leaves, and the river streaming past us. It suddenly felt like a perfectly orchestrated choreography, and I was happy to be a part of it.

The neighboring peaks surrounding the ranch make this the perfect spot for you to live your western dream with a side of luxury.

The ranch, which opened in 2010, is located in 6,600 acres in the heart of western Montana between Sapphire, John Long and Pintler Mountains. The ranch was such a success that shortly after it’s opening, it became a member of Relais & Chateaux as well as the Forbes Travel Guide in the same year.

While the price is enough to make you think twice about booking, it includes award wining cuisine and top notch activities. The ranch is comprised by a main lodge with 9 perfectly appointed guest rooms, 7 luxury homes, 10 luxury canvas cabins and 3 Conestoga wagons. Every accommodation has a very authentic style which is updated up every year without fail.

The perfect accommodations for a family are both Sweetgrass and Cutbow. Both have 2 connecting tents next to the creek, making you feel like you are in some sort of Lewis & Clark expedition, the only difference is that you have every luxury amenity you might need including a stand alone soaking tub, a wooden barrel hot tub as well as 4 indoor fire places and a fire pit next to the creek.

However, if you are looking for a romantic spot, Trapper cabin is the one.  For guests looking for a less adventurous accommodation, Bear cabin is one of my absolute favorites for a large family or a group of friends that want to sleep in an actual wooden structure.

The ranch has a great way to add to your accommodation if you want even more adventure. If you are staying in a tent or a home, you can rent a Homesteader wagon to be parked outside your accommodation for a fun overnight adventure. The wagons are perfectly appointed with a king bed, bunk beds and a bar.

Before you arrive, the ranch plans a personalized itinerary for each party depending on your needs. Our itinerary was comprised by horseback riding, fly fishing, paint ball in the woods, archery, rimfire, sporting clays, mountain biking and sapphire mining. You can do as much or as little as you want, but because we had 4 kids our itinerary was action packed.

Flint Forest Rangers is the perfect spot if traveling with children. It’s a kids program where they have super friendly counselors doing activities like adopting a horse, obstacle courses, among other activities while parents engage in adult-only activities like long horseback rides or spa treatments.

Lastly and possibly my favorite part is the Silver Dollar Saloon. This saloon as as legit as it gets. It has billiards table, four-lane bowling alley, saddle bar seats and the best drinks in town.

The Ranch at Rock Creek is a place where you will probably book your next stay before you even check-out.

City Guide: 72 Hours in the Hamptons

Although the Hamptons started as a group of villages and hamlets dedicated to fishing and agriculture, what was once a simple and rustic community has shifted its industry to accommodate worldwide jetsetters during the summer, offering lavish restaurants, hotels and experiences.

Every town you visit in this charming part of the world is more adorable than the one before, and since it can be overwhelming to plan a trip with so many adorable towns, here is a quick guide of what not to miss.

Thursday

3:00pm- Check into the cutest hotel in the area, The Topping Rose House. Most luxury boutique hotels in the area are adorable. However, once you see the rooms you will want to move hotels pretty quickly. The Topping Rose House offers fresh adorable rooms with great amenities.

7:00pm- Dinner at Lulu’s Kitchen and Bar. The leather chairs, exposed brick, and large wood burning oven make this a cozy spot to grab lunch or dinner. The menu focuses on local ingredients woven into new and classic European dishes like wood fired pizza, grilled fish, and organic roast chicken, all showcasing Chef Philippe Corbet’s love for wood-burning cuisine.

Friday:

9:00am- Breakfast at the Maidstone Restaurant. You will love the delicious whole grain avocado toast, lobster salad, egg in a hole, and a selection of smoothies. The smoked salmon dish with Greek yogurt, and an orange blossom pain perdue that’s stewed in blackberries is decadent.

11:00am- Drive to Montauk for lunch and stop to see the unique phenomenon, Walking Dunes. The mounds of sand (which reach heights of 80 feet) are in constant movement and slowly “walking” in a southeasterly direction, devouring vegetation as they go. The result is a beautiful landscape of flora and fauna, and stunning views. A little meditation or picnic spot to relax from the hustle and bustle of the week.

1:00pm- Drinks and lunch at the famous Surf Lodge. The lodge has a coastal theme running through the property. The Surf Lodge Restaurant was inspired by the beauty and culture of Montauk. All ingredients are sustainable and local.

7:00pm- Dinner at EMP. Chef Daniel Humm is opening a pop-up at East Hampton this summer. Expect fresh, local American fare that speaks to the season, including a traditional lobster boil, fried chicken feast, and a la carte options. Housed in a massive farmhouse, the space has a large indoor dining room, along with tented area, picnic tables, and games across the backyard. No doubt with all the early buzz this winter, this reservation will be a tricky one to snag this summer.

City Guide: 72 hours in San Miguel de Allende

San Miguel de Allende has to be the most magical historic town in Mexico. The colorful homes and cobblestone streets of this enchanting village are home to more than 600-years of traditions and festivities.

Strolling by the majestic colonial homes, listening to the lively sounds of the mariachi band and smelling the delicious carne asada in the distance will surely transport you back to the early 1800´s. The soaring Neogothic Parroquia and the blissful art galleries will make this your favorite destination when you’re in need of a Mexican vacation.

Thursday:

4:00pm– Check-in to L´Otel, This 4-bedroom luxury B&B is a heavenly oasis nestled amidst the streets of San Miguel. The stunning colorful decor, attention to detail, mouthwatering breakfast by Bertha and supreme service helped to make L´Otel one of my favorite places to stay.

11

6:00pm– Head to the Rosewood Hotel’s terrace. Although I am usually a big fan of Rosewood properties, I prefer just to visit this one for afternoon drink on the terrace.

8:30pm– Diner at Puerto Viejo. This is the perfect first stop on your quest for a casual traditional Mexican dinner. The jicama tacos, chile poblano soup and the mixed Molcajete are a must.

Friday:

10:00am– Breakfast at L´Otel. You must start with a delicious cup of Colombian coffee served by a wonderful hotel staff member, Arturo. Coffee will be followed by a plethora of juices (orange, mandarin and grapefruit too name a few), freshly baked scones, pain au chocolate and croissants with a side order of yogurt, home made granola and fresh fruit. Those are just a few of the items you will be nibbling on while you decide on your main course. Be sure to try the Chilaquiles Rojos. They are crunchy, spicy and perfectly cheesy.

20

11:30am– Walk to the stunning Fabrica La Aurora. This beautiful art and design center is located in a former textile factory, home to more than 60 show rooms and studios. Peak in and watch the masters in action while listening to classical music in the background. Don’t miss a freshly squeezed juice and a pastry at their divine bohemian café to recharge your batteries.

10:00am– Breakfast at L´Otel. A delectable experience.

4:00pm– Call L´Otel and have the remarkable masseuse Guadalupe (Lupita) wait for you in your suite for a ninety-minute deep tissue massage. She is by far the best and most knowledgeable masseuse I have ever had (and I get a massage everywhere I go).

City Guide: 72 Hours in Miami

Miami is an exciting and vibrant city, a melting pot of many different cultures, food, and art. From Downtown Miami, to the Ironside District, glamorous South Beach, to the barrier islands across the turquoise waters of Biscayne Bay, we’ve arranged our favorite places to eat, drink, smoke (Cuban cigars), and dance.

Thursday:

1:00pm– Check-in to the chicest, and most exclusive hotel in Miami, Soho Beach House. Formerly known as the historic Sovereign Hotel, this remodeled fashion-crowd favorite has been expanded to include a 16-story oceanfront tower exclusively for Soho House members. The House includes 50 rooms, a screening snug, 2 pools, a beach club, as well as an expansive Cowshed spa, and one of the best restaurants in town, Cecconi’s.

If you’re looking for a fresher and more modern approach to your stay, check yourself in to The Miami Beach EDITION,  an new urban boutique hotel located between North and South Beach. Their Matador restaurant and pool area are incredible. *Tip: Their Mexican Mule cocktail is the best.

When traveling with family, stay at The St Regis Bal Habor, their family suites are like staying in your own private rented apartment with stunning ocean views. The hotel is traditional, but modern at the same time. The technology in the hotel is impressive. Elevators have no buttons and everything is ordered with a screen.

3:00pm– Check out the Miami Ironside District. Located on the upper east side of Miami, this former stretch of industrial warehouses is now an urban art and design district, home to 45 designer showrooms, art galleries, creative service, and trendy eateries.

8:30pm-Dinner at Casa Tua. This is by far my favorite restaurant in the city. Their truffle risotto is decadent. After a delicious dinner head upstairs to their private bar for members only. If you are not a member, but you look the part you might get lucky.

Screen Shot 2015-10-27 at 1.40.26 PM

Another of my favorites is Cecconi’s.Their outdoor courtyard situated next the pool is scene-y and cute. Order the pappardelle duck ragu!

IMG_0436_copy_new

Lastly, if you want something more exciting try out Juvia. Located in the rooftop of a building, the view, the music and the scene is second to none.

12:00amSET is the place to be on Thursdays. This club is set for the more mature crowd; the limit is exclusively set at 500 people. The night Derek Jeter retired, he partied the night away with his closest buds until the wee hours.

Friday:

9:30am- Breakfast at Greenstreet Cafe, there is something to be said about a place where you can do what leads to a hangover one night (Whiskey Wednesdays, anyone?) and cure said hangover the next morning… or, err, whenever you get up. Breakfast is served daily until 2:45pm for those late risers. Order: the nutella-filled french toast.

102584_5896_full

11:30am– If you’re too busy to take an actual flight to Cuba, get a little taste of Cuban cuisine and the lifestyle in Little Havana. Here, you’ll find many restaurants and shops that are replicas of the ones they’d left behind. Fragrant tobacco scents wafting from cigar stores and the hum of Latin music from record shops all help to make this feel like their home away from home. The Carnaval Miami float parade also ends here.

Miami_Little_Havana_Banner

1:00pm– Head back to South Beach and treat yourself to one of the biggest staples in Miami restaurant history, Joe’s Stone Crab. The crab is so fresh and delicious that the restaurant attracts very long lines so be sure to get there before you’re even hungry.

4614_content_Untitled-1

3:30pm– Work off all that crab with my favorite type of cardio: shopping. If you’re a mall person, head to Lincoln Road Mall for all the good boutiques like H&M and cultural stores. If you’ve got money to burn, The Village of Merrick Park has Miami’s only Burberry, plus Diane von Furstenberg, Etro, Gucci, Jimmy Choo and Sonia Rykiel.

Screen Shot 2015-10-21 at 1.44.22 PM

8:00pm– Dine at the newly-opened and very dark and romantic restaurant, BaZi. Expect lots of dumplings and even more duck on the menu, plus two different bars to sip on cocktails at this sleek newcomer inside the Marlin Hotel.

Screen Shot 2015-10-21 at 1.45.07 PM

If you are not into Italian, try Spruce.  Located in Laurel Heights, it is a great American  spot on the expensive side, but well worth it.

11:30pm– South Beach can have some pretty cookie-cutter clubs, so check out Cameo, an art-deco lounge/movie theater that hosts some of the biggest superstar DJ’s of the world.

Saturday:

9:00am– Walk through the lobby of the iconic Fontainebleau Hotel to get to their scrumptious breakfast restaurant, Vida. The Deal: Made-to-order omelets, malt waffles, stone-oven pizza, a chicken and risotto sauté station, sushi and raw bar, plus limitless Bloody Marys & mimosas and free valet for $65.

10:00am– Miami is home to some of the most fit and beautiful people in the world, it’s like a melting pot for international models. So, get your fitness on like a model at Anatomy 1220. Anatomy, an exclusive, membership-only workout club/post-party recovery hangout featuring chandeliers, red carpets and state-of-the-art machines.

If that’s not your kind of workout style, take a paddle board class at Paddle Boarding at The Standard for a workout that you can also get while tanning.

12:00pm– Have an early lunch at the light-filled and chic Mediterranean-inspired eatery, Byblos. It features an eclectic menu filled with sophisticated dishes from the entire region. Make sure to wash your meal back with one of their tea cocktails, presented tableside in a silver teapot.

1:30pm Hire a car and drive to Key Biscayne, known to locals as “The Key”. Spend your day picnicking at the beach and rent some snorkel gear. With little nightlife or shopping, the lure for visitors is nature: there are pristine beaches, two waterfront parks, a cycling path and gorgeous views of Miami.

keybiscayne-beaches-1

9:00pm Dinner at Marion, this brand new glamours Mediterranean eatery. This restaurant slash bistro slash cafe features cuisine by Michelin-pedigreed chef Jean Paul Lourdes and a cocktail by none other than the Bar Lab guys themselves in a swanky Parisian setting.

If you dinner + nightlife kind of place, head to Bagatelle, the french-inspired eatery that is famous in New York City. Not great if you want a quiet conversation, but if you want a show with your dinner, this is the place to go. DJs spin, Supergirl delivers champagne, and the bartenders serve cocktails in glasses that change color.

Sunday:

10:00am– Have a goodbye-to-miami boozy brunch at Seaspice Restaurant. This Miami River hot spot now sports a new name and executive chef, ushering in Angel León (ex Sugarcane) to helm a high-end, globally inspired seafood menu featuring a raw bar and dishes ranging from wood-fired casseroles to Dover sole and branzino. Best part is that theres a dock to park your yacht.

12:00pm- Take your private rented yacht and jet around the coast of Miami for a few hours. Opt for a picnic lunch on Star Island or stop by one of the infamous sand bar parties.

City Guide: 72 Hours in Tulum

If you are going to Tulum any time soon keep this in mind before you arrive, eco-travel is the only way to go. Do not expect fresh water showers, A/C or any other luxury of that sort. Tulum is a hippy town along the coast of the Riviera Maya and global jet-setters are starting to love it. Last year I planned Tulum trips for clients in Russia, China and Germany. How they learned about Tulum? It beats me, but I am sure glad they did because they are putting this tiny charming town under the radar of people looking for exotic trips.

If you do not mind not having A/C and fresh water, Coqui Coqui is a cute spot design wise. *Note: Most hotels are Eco-hotels, so their electricity shuts off, showers and sinks have only ocean water and they have no A/C. If you are going in the Summer, stay at BE Tulum, if you are going in the winter your options should range between Coqui Coqui and Ana y Jose.

1:00pm– Posada Margherita. Good Pasta and Fish

3:30pm– If you like diving, there are many fantastic PADI offices around Tulum. If diving is not your style, rent some snorkel gear and head out from your hotel.

8:00pm– Dinner at Hartwood. This rustic spot has no stoves, no convection ovens or anything of that sort. In fact he only uses wood fire to cook with. The kitchen is open air and every element of the kitchen is bare and simple.

10:30pm– Drinks at Gitano. This place is decorated in a very cute way, and it is perfect for an after dinner drink.

Saturday:

9:00am– Grab a smoothie or acai bowl at one of the many amazing juice spots. Insider Tip: Il Barino Tulum Juice & Co are the best.

11:00am-Head over to the end of the beach highway to the Tulum ruins. They will probably be the most exotic ruins you will ever lie your eyes on. After walking the grounds make sure to take a dip in the ruin beach. After, head over to the Cenote Delfi, a few feet away. You should go there one day as well. It costs $4 to get in and they take you to a bridge in the middle of the jungle and then you arrive to a lake/cenote where the water is beautiful. This will only take 30 minutes of your time and is worth it.

1:30pm– Matteos: Good for lunch. Mexican Food (Fajitas and Quesadillas). Amazing to watch the sunset. Another great spot is Coqui Coqui, their tostadas are amazing.

image2-4

8:00pm– Hemingway: Really yummy food and right on the ocean.

Sunday:

10:00am– What a better way to start your day than with a morning yoga class? Yoga Shala is the best studio in town. Surrounded by a lush tropical forest, the open air studio is perfect to get in touch with your senses.

image1-5

11:00am– Enjoy a last dip in the crystal clear water before sadly leaving. However, if you want to make this a 120 hour trip, rent a car and start driving to my favorite island in the Riviera Maya, Holbox. This place is so stunning, you will change your upcoming Maldives trip to this off the beaten path island.

City Guide: 72 Hours in San Francisco

Growing up only a few hours from San Francisco, it used to be my favorite city destination in California. The vibrant culture, art, and food are just a few of the reason why San Francisco is one of my favorite U.S. cities. San Franciscans are known for their enthusiasm for all things healthy and outdoorsy, so don’t be surprised to find the next big health food trend you haven’t even heard of yet. From the best food trucks to the Michelin-starred restaurants, we’ve got you covered for the best places to eat, drink, and be merry.

Thursday:

12:00pm– Check-in to the Fairmont Hotel, located at the top of Nob Hill overlooking both Fisherman’s Wharf and Union Square. This 592-room hotel is definitely most suitable for the seasoned traveler, one who prefers classic luxury to more modern accommodations. Built in 1907, this hotel is now a landmark within the city.

2:00pm– If you’re trying to steer clear of the more run down tourist areas (cough cough Union Square), head to Haight & Ashbury for some eclectic shopping and stores. Most famously known for being the origin place of the hippie culture.

TO GO WITH A STORY by Zachary Slobig, Li

4:00pm–  Check out the De Young Museum in Golden Gate park. They will be featuring a very exciting exhibit on Oscar de La Renta this March 2016. The California Academy of Sciences is also just a few steps away.

If you are looking for an unpretentious eatery, try The Chubby Noodle. It is located in one of the hottest neighborhoods but has not sky rocketed it’s prices. Opt for the BBQ ribs, peking duck steam buns, chubby chow mein. Insider Tip: they give out free sake shots!

10:00pm– Drinks at Wilson & Wilson, this swanky speak-easy is the perfect place for after dinner drinks on your date night or with friends. Reservations are needed.

3:30pm– Work off all those taco’s with a hike at Land’s End, one of the most beautiful views in all of San Francisco. This hike runs along the ocean cliffs overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s not a hard hike so don’t be too intimidated!

1006983-lands-end

8:00pm– Splurge on yourself at SPQR, the sister property of A16, an equally great restaurant with wood-burning pizzas. SPQR focuses on traditional Italian dishes which include fresh, house-made pastas, but be sure to go with a small group of friends (they only allow tables of four people max).

If you are not into Italian, try Spruce.  Located in Laurel Heights, it is a great American  spot on the expensive side, but well worth it.

10:30pm– For a lively bar that’s very in with the cool-crowd, check out Ambassador for an after-dinner martini. The music starts to get louder around 11:00pm so get ready to dance!

Saturday:

9:00am– Head to The Ferry Building on the Embarcadero (right on the water), one of my all-time favorite places on a Saturday when there is a farmer’s market. One of SF’s best restaurants is also located here, the Slanted Door (Vietnamese) is here, so make sure you stop by for breakfast. Make sure to go with an appetite!

San_Francisco_Ferry_Building_(cropped)

1:30pm– Hire a car and spend the day oyster shucking at Hog Island Oyster Company. Stop by Palace Market to pick up picnicking supplies for your journey (i.e. beer, wine, and champagne, the essentials). For the price of the oysters and a $5 picnicking fee, you’re treated to complimentary shucking equipment, a shucking lesson, lemon, and ALL the hot sauce. Purchase charcoal for $7 or bring your own. Also, stop by Cowgirl Creamery, right around the corner, for some of the best cheese in the city.

picnic-table-in-front-of-bay-1280

5:00pm– Check out Arlequin Wine Shop, it’s a little taste of Napa without having to drive all the way there. Being that its something of a local secret, not many people are aware of the magical community garden out back, where you can drink any wine from the shop by the glass for a small corkage fee.

8:00pmState Bird Provisions, a haven of gourmet dumplings and savory pancakes and a separate menu where you’ll find the quail dish that gave the restaurant its name. Three years and two James Beard awards later, getting a table here is as difficult as ever.

Or get a table at Aatxe, located on Upper Market street, named one of the top 10 best new restaurants in the U.S. by Zagat. The restaurant recreates the charm of Northern Spain, using dark wood and Spanish tiles that recall the tapas bars of the Basque country.

Sunday:

10:00am– Make a quick stop at Judahlicious for one of their vegan acai bowls in the Ocean Beach area. What’s a stop in SF without something ridiculously healthy?

12:00pm- Sundays in San Francisco are spent at Off The Grid, the largest collection of food truck in the city with a stunning view overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge at Presidio Park. Come, and bring your picnic blanket, and listen to live music while you sample some of the best artisan foods in the city. Food trucks not to miss: Three Twins Ice Cream, El Porteno, Grilled Cheez Guy, DUM Truck, and Happy Moose Juice.

11:00am– Before you head home, make a pit stop at Golden Gate Park and go for a paddle boat ride on Stow Lake. The park also offers Japanese Tea Gardens if you want to be a little more zen.

City Guide: 72 Hours in Dublin

Now that you have followed us through an exploration of the lovely Scottish city of Edinburgh, let us take you all around Dublin. To see our favorite looks from this city check out our lookbook below!

Thursday:

1:00pm– Check-in to the Westbury Hotel, a perfect place to stay that is just as vibrant as the city you are so lucky to find yourself in. The Westbury is located right in the center of eccentric Dublin, and surrounded by all of Dublin’s best shopping, restaurants and pubs.

If you would like a hotel with a bit more history, try the Dylan Hotel. It was once a Victorian boarding house and now is a beautiful, 44-room boutique hotel. This is a great spot for you if you want a little bit of a quieter place to escape to, but still want to be walking distance from the action.

005332-03-Exterior-by-Night 005332-03-brown-orange-bedroom 005332-01-couch

2:00pm– Wander around the area of your hotel of choice to get your bearings with the city. All hotel options are centrally located and near to all sorts of Irish drinking and debauchery (in the best ways, of course).

8:00pm–  Dinner at at Wilde. Here you will find yourself immersed in some of the finest dining that Dublin as to offer, right in the comfort of the Westbury Hotel. They serve wonderful dishes with the freshest produce from the surrounding lush and beautiful areas of Ireland. You cannot go wrong with ordering the caviar to start and then the duck confit.

10:00pm– Drinks at 777, a 12-foot tequila bar that hosts Dublin’s most beautiful city goers.

Friday:

10:00am- Dublin is one of the most famously walkable cities in the world. Start your morning strolling along Grafton Street before heading into San Lorenzo’s for their, appropriately named, “Breakfast of Champions”. There has been much chatter about their brunch lately, and the eggs with caviar and champagne is to die for.  If you’re looking for something sweeter, order the french toast with coco-crust and caramelized bananas.

san-lorenzos_54_990x660_201406020248

11:30am– Continue your walk after brunch by continuing along Grafton Street, where you will find some of Dublin’s best shopping. This could take up an entire day if you want it to…but if not, keep strolling onto St. Stephen’s Green, a stunning park known for staying flawlessly green all year around.

1:00pm– Have lunch at Dublin City Food – the city’s best sandwich shop, and since you will probably still be a bit full from brunch, a sandwich sounds perfect, doesn’t it? All meats are smoked and roasted in house, and their pastrami and pulled pork are to die for.

dcf1

2:00pm– Continue on your walking adventure after lunch by crossing the famous Ha’Penny Bridge and then wander into Phoenix Park, another beautiful park that showcases the stunning green of Ireland.

8:00pm– Dinner at Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud, Ireland’s only two Michelin Star restaurant. This restaurant has been written up in practically every major publication, including the New York Times and the Irish Times. They strive to make every dining experience impeccable, and they do an unbelievable job. If we had to start recommending dishes, we would have to recite the whole menu. Each dish is delicious, but make sure you book in advance.

patrick_guilbaud_4_1

10:00pm– After-dinner drinks at House for a more casual experience to counter your crazy, tequila-filled bout last night. Here you can cozy up in one of their wine rooms in front of a wood-burning fire. You’ve had a long day, so it should feel great to relax in front of a warm fire with a glass of red wine.

Saturday:

10:00am– Have breakfast to fuel your busy day to come at Forest Avenue, a spot that locals rave about because of their 5-course brunch. Just over the Grand Canal, this spot is known for its high-end dining experience and delicious food. The menu is always changing, so you’re sure to find the best and freshest ingredients. Expect a yummy, sweet starter, followed by a traditional breakfast dish like granola, and then prepare to move slowly into more brunch/lunch-like items.

c_plate2

11:00am– Head to the Dublin Castle, which was originally erected in the 13th century. Since then, it has undergone many renovations, but is still strikingly beautiful. During the summer, the castle doubles as a venue for many art, music and cultural events.

Dublin (6)

1:00pm– Since you recently finished a 5-course brunch, you have solidified a hefty layer for a typically-Irish afternoon of drinking. Choose from either the Jameson Experience or the Guinness Brewery tour this afternoon. You can’t leave Dublin without doing at least one of the two. The Guinness Brewery tour takes you through the brewing process of the world famous beer. The best part is The Gravity Bar, which features a 360° view of Dublin, where you can enjoy a pint of the Irish stable that you just learned how to expertly pour. If Jameson is your favorite, head that way, where the original distillery began in 1870 and today offers tours and tastings. Be sure to book online for both.

Gravity_Bar_image2

3:00pm– Go to Anseo for a truly Irish experience – it is a perfectly traditional Irish pub that will make you feel right at home. You can drink Guinness’s all afternoon if you chose the Jameson Distillery earlier.

tumblr_mac3q6QYzm1rarhhbo1_1280

8:00pm– Have dinner at L’Ecrivain, a Michelin Starred French Restaurant that has been wildly popular for years and years. With six and ten course tasting menus, this spot brings French fare to new heights. Their Sommelier has also been renowned as the best of the best, so be sure to take expect advice on wine pairings for your meal.

l_ecrivain_4_1

10:00pm– Go to The Twisted Pepper for the epitome of Dublin’s nightlife scene. They consistently book some of the best in the electronic/dance music scene, as well as local musicians. On Fridays and Saturdays, each of the three stories fills its stages with a different act, so there is sure to be something for everyone.

It is truly a floating palace…but would you expect anything less?

8:00pm- Have dinner at The Rutland Hotel restaurant, just a few blocks away from Edinburgh Castle. David Haetzman’s evening tasting menu will give you a lovely taste of the country you are in with Scottish stews and wonderfully fresh mussels.

Thursday:

1:00pm- Check-in to The Park Hyatt Hotel (article coming Friday). For a classic Tokyo experience, this is definitely the hotel to stay in. The hotel is modern, located in one of the busiest districts, and has old-school classic elegance.

2:00pm- Take a stroll around The Meiji Shrine. This stunning shrine is dedicated to the late 19th-century emperor who opened Japan to the West.  This is Tokyo’s most famous Shinto shrine and is beautifully serene, and not a complete tourist trap. If you can go back on a Sunday, we recommend checking it out that night so you can watch a traditional Japanese wedding in process.

Screen Shot 2015-05-06 at 9.45.35 AM

8:00pm– Dinner at Kanda. Awarded three Michelin stars in 2009, the traditional Japanese restaurant’s cooking is guided by the seasons.

8:00pm– Dinner at the Kozue in The Park Hyatt. No other restaurant in Tokyo has a setting to rival Kozue. Perched far above the fray on the 40th floor of the Park Hyatt, Kozue is still as swish as the day it opened in 1994, with a contemporary look (soaring ceiling, stylish tables and chairs) to match the confident modern inflections on kaiseki (japan’s version of haute cuisine).

tokyo-restaurant-sense-tea-corner-03

3:00pm- Visit the Tsukiji Fish Market. This is the world’s largest, busiest fish market, and it is an awesome spot to visit if you need to kick start your jetlagged mind and body. At 5 a.m., you can watch the live tuna auctions. Spots are limited, but it will be one of the highlights of your adventure.

Tsukiji Fish Market

8:00pm- Obviously Tokyo is home to some of the best sushi in the world, so why not hit-up one of the top rated sushi restaurants in the whole world? Sushi Saito is your place for the freshest fish, but don’t expect it to be americanized sushi.

Sushi-Saito

10:00pm- Before you leave Tokyo you MUST see a traditional sumo wrestling show. Try Ryogoku Kokugikan – Tokyo’s National Sumo Hall.  If you do not happen to catch tournament season, try to go to an early morning training session at a beya (sumo stable).  We promise, it won’t be as scarring as an Austin Powers situation.
