Travel Tip: Top Desert Tented Camps

Sometimes adventure travel isn’t always conventional, sometimes the adventure is embracing nature in full form by camping outdoors! What better way to connect with nature than to fully surround yourself in it. For our adventure travel month we wanted to bring you the most extreme luxurious desert tented camps around the world!

For a list of the best camping gear for the outdoors lover, check out our article here.

1. Erg Chigaga Camp

Nick and Bobo’s luxury tented camp is located about 9 hours into the desert from Marrakech, Morocco. This may seem like a long drive, but it is a timeless one and not to be missed. If you’re interested in skipping this drive, you can always arrive via private helicopter or small plane. Main Camp is adjacent to the highest dunes in Morocco, the camp is traditionally Berber designed with all the modern amenities a discerning traveler would need. The devil is in the detail as they say; each item in the 10 tents has been handmade in Morocco, fit for an African King. If you’re looking for something more discreet and private, they also offer a private camp a 10-minute drive from Main Camp.  Activities include: camel trekking, guided walks, picnic lunches and sundowners on the dunes.

2. Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp

Hoanib Camp is strategically located in a deep valley in between two tributaries on the dry Hoanib River in Namibia. This camp is definitely not for the first-timer to Africa, it is a trek to get to because it is located in one of the most remote areas of the Skeleton Coast. The ecosystem there has adapted to a desert lifestyle such as elephants, giraffe, gemsbok, and springbok. The camp consists of seven large tents and one family unit, each comprising stylish en-suite bedrooms with shaded outdoor decks. The camp faces east which shows off the moon-like landscape.

3. Voyages Longitude 131°

Located in the spiritual heart of Australia, in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, this camp is definitely more on the modern glamping side. Filled with rugged beauty and aboriginal culture, this camp offers much more than the standard tented camp. Ride camels across the desert or take a class on Astronomy, there’s a little something for everyone. The main lodge offers a library, delicious Dune House Restaurant, swimming pool, and the Dune House, a perfect place for sunset cocktails. There are fifteen luxury tents, they honestly feel more like private apartments, perfect for solitude and serenity. If slumming it in these smaller tents is blasé for you, stay in the Luxury Tent, which was meticulously designed to remain cool in summer and warm in winter and spans 40m².  The Tented Camp also offers a Spa and private tours.

Situated like a gleaming mirage in the dunes of the Thar Desert in India, lies Damodra Desert Camp. This camp offers a unique insight into the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan, traditional Rajasthan food, and dancing. The camp prides itself on it’s traditional Indian hospitality, warmth, and modern conveniences. Damodra Desert Camp has 10 deluxe swiss cottage tents with comfortable beds, either one king size or two twin size beds.  All premium white bed linens and towels are included, as well as premium toiletries. Included in your rate are camel rides through the desert with a tour guide to point out local flora and fauna. If you’re looking for a little extra adventure try sand surfing on the dunes!

Gili Lankanfushi. Maldives

Gili Lankanfushi is the absolute epitome of a relaxation destination. The second you arrive, slip off your shoes and into a bathing suit and let your vacation begin. Even the most basic Villa Suites are beyond anything you could imagine.

Villas are almost entirely open-air, save for the bedroom, which is air conditioned. Rooms have a sundeck that is right over the water, with day beds to lounge on. With 45 rooms and 29 suites, Gili Lankanfushi has something for everyone willing to spend a little dough. All villas also have a Mr. (or Ms.) Friday – a wonderful butler who will do absolutely anything you need. You will want to bring him home with you. There is no need to weigh down your suitcase with toiletries; rooms are extremely well outfitted and the bathrooms are stocked with just about any basics you need. There is a no-shoes policy, so leave the fancy ones at home and bring along a pair of tennies for the court.

If the setting is not already relaxing enough, indulge in a spa treatment or five at Meera Spa, where luxury is abundant and heaven is near. With six over-water treatment rooms, a yoga studio, sauna, steam room and Tai Chi studio. Make sure you ask for a massage table over the glass floor so you can watch the world go by under the sea.

If you are looking to do something a bit more adventurous, Gili Lankanfushi has a million activities in store for you. Start your day with yoga on the beach, then try windsurfing, sailing, or kayaking. Play a bit of tennis, or if you are not feeling particularly active, stay in with a board game or two. Borrow bikes from the hotel, or plan a day trip to nearby islands, a sunset booze cruise, or a dolphin adventure. There is certainly no shortage of activities here.

Note that there are not any restaurants outside of the hotel – but not to worry, you will have plenty to eat and drink. The hotel offers many unique dining experiences, including a private barbecue on a nearby beach lit by lanterns and reachable by jetty. You can also enjoy a 14-course Japanese tasting menu at By the Sea (get the pork belly), or a meal at Leaf, or even an Arab-inspired meal on Palm Beach. Get the lamb when dining there,  they cook it in the ground, which is a Maldivian tradition, and it is to die for.

This hotel is everything you could ever dream of, and exactly what comes to mind when you think of the ideal romantic trip. It would be perfect for a honeymoon, babymoon, or any kind of romantic getaway.

Fiji

Fiji is a nation near and dear to my heart. I spent a summer there studying shark behavior with one of the world’s best diving teams, Beqa Adventure Divers. Fiji is named the “soft coral capital of the world” due to it’s diverse and colorful species of coral, it is an underwater naturalist’s dream. Fighting Back: My Postpartum Journey

Isabella Louise5

It’s Monday, July 1, 2015 and, today, I finally see the light.

As I write this, I am still unsure whether it’s too soon to tell my story, but I promised myself that once I felt better, I would share my experience in the hopes that it might help someone going through the same situation.

The morning of April 13, nearly three months ago, I woke up feeling odd—not my usual self. Little did I know, it was the beginning of my journey through postpartum anxiety.

My life has always been an incredible one. I have an unbelievably loving family—whose support enabled me to achieve anything I set my mind to—unconditional friends, endless opportunities and a great education. I have always been extremely lucky. In other words, I didn’t have a complaint in the world. I could only thank God and my family for growing up in such a privileged way.

My daughter was born February 18th, 2015, and my already happy life was complete. My incredible husband was by my side through the painful and intense labor, and that night, at 10:38pm, we both sat in awe at what we had created together.

Those first two months were more than perfect; they were nirvana. My husband and I were more in love than ever, our beautiful baby was healthy, and we couldn’t ask for anything more. On paper, I had it all. People would approach me with, “you don’t look like you just had a baby,” “you’re glowing,” and “you look more rested than before.” I truly had the best pregnancy and postpartum experience anyone could wish for.

But at 4:00am on that fateful April 13th, I was startled out of bed with the image of something terrifying happening to me. I thought it was just a nightmare, but that entire day I felt “off” and a little down. My husband had just had a medical scare a few days before, almost fainting due to low blood sugar (he has Type 1 Diabetes) and motherly apprehension came rushing to my brain all of a sudden—what if my daughter gets diabetes?

I got pregnant knowing that my baby had a higher chance of getting Type 1 Diabetes, but it never really bothered me, as the chances are very low. But for some reason, on that particular day, it actually felt like a real threat for the first time. I later learned that that event was the trigger to my postpartum anxiety/depression.

My mind began conjuring up images of horrible things happening to Isabella and I as the days went by. They became so horrific, so debilitating, that at one point, I felt like I wasn’t going to make it to the next morning.

I have always been very even-keeled and, thankfully, never struggled with mental illness before. I guess this was the reason I was even more afraid of what was going on—this was so foreign to me, and I was scared for my life.

The vivid images became more and more common, and worse by the second. I would wake up drenched in sweat, unable to stop shaking, wanting to scrub the images from my head.

I made an appointment with a psychologist and explained what I was going through. I realized at my lowest point of desperation, exhaustion and pure fright that she didn’t know how to treat what I had: Postpartum Anxiety and Depression. Finally seeking help and it not working out was so overwhelming; that I just felt like my life was about to end.

Questions started rushing through my mind.

How did a sweet and loving mother become a person I didn’t recognize overnight?

How was I going to keep my company afloat?

How was I going to take care of my baby?

How was I going to change her diapers?

How was I going to continue being the wife I loved being?

How was I going to be the supportive friend I had always been?

I felt like an alien had taken over my brain, and I had no control over it.

My fears ranged from being put away in a mental institution, leaving my daughter without a mother, to horrific things happening to the baby and me.

I could not watch the news, see people struggling with mental illness walking the streets, listen to sad stories, or even look at billboards that had any words with a negative connotation on them. The tiniest thing could trigger my anxiety and panic attacks.

My husband found a psychologist that specialized in women’s mental health, and I finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel. I learned I was suffering from a hormone imbalance that was causing a very common disorder called Postpartum Anxiety, which falls under the umbrella of Postpartum Depression. It was a relief to know that there was a name for what I was going through, even though the panic and anxiety didn’t go away.

After my first session, I learned that having a baby usually triggers thoughts about the fragility of life. For the first time, I was responsible for another human being’s life, so my brain was playing out the scenarios that I feared the most. That, along with my husband’s health scare, decreased my levels of Serotonin (the hormone known to make you happy), leading to the perfect storm inside my brain.

My world had changed so drastically after having my baby, that only until two months after giving birth did my brain begin to cope with the incredibly daunting responsibility of keeping my baby safe—and with the idea that even a little mistake might cost me my daughter’s life.

My OBGYN reassured me that it was temporary and extremely common, affecting more than 30% of new moms. The reason I hadn’t heard much about it, was that it’s still an apparently taboo subject that many women prefer to keep private. That was the moment I promised myself I was going to share my story; to help other women understand that this doesn’t mean you are weak, and it by no means should make you feel guilty or like you’ve failed. On the contrary, it is something out of your control, because it’s a hormone imbalance. But, with the appropriate help, this will pass and you will be your normal self again.

My doctor recommended I start Zoloft, a common antidepressant for pregnant and nursing mothers, to balance everything out again. In the beginning, I was hesitant about taking any kind of drug, given that I was breastfeeding. But later, I understood that if I wasn’t feeling okay, I could never be okay with others. Mom comes first, family second. And so, I decided to start.

I suffered through three months of pure agony, but in hindsight, I am glad that I went through this, because it made me a more understanding and appreciative person. I see every morning that I open my eyes as a gift, and I do not take my days for granted anymore. Instead, I choose to enjoy every second of it and help others understand that this is a common disorder and, again, it will pass. You will get through it.

And so I circle back to my ultimate passion, and the reason you are reading this post: Travel! Traveling, among other things, was a big part of what helped me to get over those challenging months.  I decided to go to The Golden Door Spa to get out of the everyday routine. Planning a trip to a place I knew I was going to be pampered and catch up on sleep got me excited and helped me immensely.

They say sleep, massages, exercise routines, talking about your struggle and healthy meals are usually the best ways to get over anxiety or depression, so that is exactly what I did.

After my stay at Golden Door, I researched the top 5 spas in the U.S. that are ideal to clear your mind and help you work on your mental and physical wellness. Most of these spas have a weekly plan to get you in shape with trainers, psychologist and sometimes psychiatrists:

The staff at this spa truly understands the complexities of each individual, which is why they create a customized program upon your arrival to take advantage of your days at Cal-a-Vie. They tend to focus on every aspect of your wellness including mind, body, and spirit.

Additionally, you will discover that they have the most incredible fitness in the nation, which can include yoga, spinning, boxing, tai-chi, walks, golf among other classes.

In addition to the unmatched spa amenities, the 18 hole Ted Robinson-like golf course is conveniently located a few feet away from the spa, making this a perfect destination if thinking about jet setting with your man.

Still have a few dollars left in your wallet after the Summer travels? If you do, please go to Cal-a-Vie and get a Thai massage for me. Thank me after.

Lake Austin Spa. Austin, Texas

Someone once told me that Lake Austin has the looks of a luxury first-class spa, but the warmth of a friend’s lake house. He was right. If you’re living in Dallas and in need of an escape from the heat, Austin is the perfect driving distance. The oasis waits only 3 hours away!

Nestled along Lake Austin, the scenic and peaceful view provides the perfect backdrop to unwind. While sometimes 2 glasses of wine do the trick, once in a while a spa weekend is just necessary and Lake Austin won’t disappoint.

The spa itself is gorgeous and the staff makes you feel like you are the only guest that matters to them. You can literally do anything you want. For example, I took an awesome paddle boarding class with yoga moves (insane, right?) that made my abs feel like they were on fire, followed by a relaxing sauna session and a light yet surprisingly satisfying 330 calorie scrumptious dinner. My favorite was the wild mushroom tortellini with cavolo nero, pesto, pine nuts and slowly melting Parmesan cheese.

If you’re traveling with a girlfriend or parent, stay in one of the premier rooms, which comes equipped with lake views and two queen beds. Traveling as a couple? Opt for the Premier Hot Tub Cabin, which comes with 1 king-sized bed, zen garden, and hot tub.

It was named the #1 destination spa in North America by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler in 2010 and 2008, as well as one of the top ten spas in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards. That should say it all, I rest my case.

Mayflower Inn & Spa. Washington, Connecticut

If you live in the Northeast and you are looking for a top-notch spa, but don’t feel like getting on a plane? Then look no further. Grab your car, drive a short 2 hours from New York or Boston to the Mayflower Inn & Spa and prepare to get blown away by this over the top Manor home in Connecticut.

Make sure you don’t judge this book by its cover. At first glance, you will see many old money couples and perhaps a few faces that look like they are frozen from so much Botox, but once you step into this Inn, I promise, you will feel right at home. The crisp and clean décor reminds me of the house I’ve never had, but always dreamed of. Each room is its own tiny world of luxury and coziness. What I like about Mayflower Inn is the fact that the programs are not as rigid as many of the other options, yet you still have the same tailor made programs you desire.

Got some money to burn? Stay in Grace Suite Room 10, it is 1200 sqft of pure luxury that also come with private balconies and luxurious marble and mahogany bath accommodations with walk-in showers and deep soak tubs.  Another “don’t miss” at the Mayflower Inn is their luxurious amenities. They offer you robes, slippers, plush towels, warm-ups and t-shirts during your visit. There are also stations all around the spa with fresh fruit, healthy snacks and drinks (and as a born snacker, that was the olive in my martini.)

You are offered two dining options, The Mayflower Grille or The Tap Room, the second being the more casual of the two options. It’s the perfect place to meet up with friends for a bottle of Cabernet after a solid day of pampering.

Ice Hotel. Sweden

The ICEHOTEL in Sweden is the original ICEHOTEL and was founded in 1989. It has since acquired great fame from its novelty and beauty. As both and art exhibit and hotel, ICEHOTEL in Sweden is constructed entirely of ice from a European wild river north of the Arctic Circle.

All of the walls, floors and ceilings are created by different artists and designers who use this marvel as their personal art canvas. They also care immensely for the environment, so they are constantly improving and finding ways to protect the surrounding area.

Choose from a cool room if you are feeling adventurous, or a warm room if being that cold sounds just too bone-chilling…the ICEHOTEL is great at catering to any type of guest, which is not a simple task considering that the hotel is mostly made of ice. The cool rooms come with multiple options, but we recommend staying in a deluxe suite or in one of the art suites. In the deluxe suite, you will find the room to be quite large and luxurious. It comes equipped with an en-suite heated bathroom and sauna for when the cold gets to be too much. In both the deluxe suite and the art suite there is a unique, handcrafted 3D ice sculpture, and in the art suite, the entire room is individually designed by handpicked artists from all over the world.

If the warm room sounds more appealing, stay in an arctic chalet, where you will be able to get a true feel for Sweden and its culture. The rooms are  charming enough to enjoy your time there. Insider tip: book a portion of your stay in a cool room, and the rest in a warm room. The cool rooms offer an amazing experience, but staying for too long will leave you cold and grumpy.

In the Spring of each year, the hotel melts away and is later recreated, so you are guaranteed to have a unique experience every time you visit. Do not worry, though, you can still visit in the summer – ICEHOTEL offers their chalets and wilderness camp to summer guests.

Posh Voyage is all about the possibility of adventures and trying out exciting new places, so the ICEHOTEL is one of our favorites. Get outside your comfort zone without sacrificing the luxury you love with this stop in Sweden.

Travel Tip: 5 Essential Tips when Flying with Your Dog

If you’re reading this blog, it’s probably because we have something in common: an undying zest for travel. You’ve got wanderlust. There’s just something about having an adventure that seems to take your life up a couple notches.

We just love it. I, personally, have been in love with travel for as long as I can remember. I also have been a huge dog lover for my entire life. My dogs have always been some of my best friends. So, it was natural to want to take my dogs on my adventures (you can read about how I travel with my dog here).

But here’s the thing: sometimes, my adventures take me too far away to drive, and taking your dog on a plane can be an absolutely massive headache (not to mention unsafe).

After a few trips (and a ton of research), I’ve got taking your dog on a plane down to a science, and I want to pass some of that knowledge along to you. Here are 5 tips that can help you the next time you and your pup take to the skies.

1. Seriously consider whether or not air travel is right for your dog.

Of all the tips on this list, this is by far the most important.

Before you even think about jet setting across the world on some long, transatlantic flight, please—please—consider whether or not traveling in a plane is okay for your specific dog.

Here’s the reality: traveling my plane is not a fun experience for your dog. In all likelihood, it’s going to be one of the more stressful things your dog ever does. He’ll have to ride by himself in the cargo hold (unless he’s tiny enough to carry on). He may have to deal with extreme temperatures. He’s going to be handled by a bunch of strangers. Then, he’s going to be bumped around in a weird, noisy metal room, and he won’t have any idea what’s going on.

If your dog isn’t prepared, isn’t well-adjusted, has separation anxiety, is prone to accidents, or has any number of health problems—you may want to leave him at home.

And if you do, that’s okay.

Trust me: dogs that don’t do well on flights will be much better off staying with a friend or at a doggy hotel than going through the ordeal of flying.

2. Feed your dog about four hours before take-off.

You should feed your dog about four hours before you’re in the air. Do this even if your pup has to skip a meal or eat two meals. This is especially true for longer flights.

That four-hour mark is a sweet spot. You really want to shoot for it for two reasons. First, you don’t want your dog to be hungry on the flight. Hungry dogs are much more likely to be anxious and stressed, and a good meal four hours before hand will curb hunger. However, secondly, you want a couple hours between your dog’s meal and take-off, so there’s less of a chance he’ll get sick during the flight.

So, to whatever extent you can, hit that four-hour mark, even if it means switching up your pup’s daily routine.

3. Call ahead to check policies and guidelines.

While there are federal regulations for taking your dog on a plane (read the FAA guidelines here), each airline also has their own guidelines. The last thing you want is to get to the gate and realize you’re breaking one of the rules (trust me: I’ve done this, and it’s one of the easiest ways to ruin a vacation).

Here’s the real trick: call the airline directly.

Talk to a person. Ask specifically about your dog’s breed, since some airlines don’t allow certain breeds on their planes. Then, ask if there are any other regulations you should know about.

Finally, ask what the flying conditions for your dog will me. Where will he stay? Who will be handing him? What are their emergency procedures for animals?

This is all stuff you need to know, and it only takes a 10-minute phone call.

For quick reference, here’s a good, fairly comprehensive list of most major airline’s pet policies. It doesn’t replace a phone call, but it’s a good place to start.

4. Practice and reinforce crate training in the weeks leading up to departure.

If your pooch can’t stay comfortably in his crate, don’t even think about flying. Dogs must be in an appropriate kennel or carrier to fly on any airline.

So, in the weeks leading up to your flight, it’s a good idea to really reinforce your pup’s crate training. My dog is already crate trained (something I recommend often), so for us, part of our pre-flight checklist is just taking some time every day to make sure our dog has strong positive feelings and associations with her crate.

And it’s not anything complicated. We just plop her in there and give her an amazing dog-massage while she chows down on a few special treats.

If your dog isn’t crate trained, work on this at least two months in advance. You don’t just need your dog to be able to hang out in a crate—you need him to enjoy being there and feel safe. It goes a long way toward mitigating some of the anxiety of flying.

5. Don’t give your dog sedatives.

For better or for worse, some dog owners are in the habit of giving their dog anti-sickness medication when they travel (mostly—and understandably—to avoid accidents on road trips).

When flying, however, you mostly want to avoid it. These drugs can affect your pup’s natural ability to keep his balance as well as his sense of equilibrium.

If you’re worried about him getting sick, keep a couple of things in mind: (1) dogs are less likely to get sick in planes than in cars because there’s less stop-and-go motion, and (2) it’s a good idea to line his crate with something to make accidents easy to clean up.

Wrapping it up…

Well, there ya go! Those are a few of my best tips.

Of course, if you have any doubt at all about whether or not your dog is okay to fly, play it safe. Sometimes it’s just not worth the risk to either of you.

That said, I love traveling with my dog, and we often travel on planes together. She comes with me most everywhere I go, and I love having her tag along on my adventures.

So, hopefully, these tips can help you and your pup create a few of the same memories!

Traveling Overseas With a Baby

Before my European summer trip with my 5-month old baby, I was a nerve wreck. Questions started rushing through my brain: How will I pull this off by myself? How will the baby adjust to the new time change? Will she be jet-lagged? Will she scream the entire flight? What if she gets sick in a foreign country?

These fears started weeks before my departure date and did not stop until the moment we took off. The anticipation of the trip was so stressful that I almost canceled the trip, however, I am glad I didn’t because it was the best trip of my life.

This trip was a great way to master the art of international travel with a baby, and will hopefully help you master it as well.

Find below the 9 steps that helped make my trip a success:

1. Change the sleep schedule the night before:

The day before my 11-hour flight, I changed my baby’s schedule slightly to prepare her for the time difference. My flight was at 4:00pm and I was going to be landing at 6:00am the following day. I wanted the flight time to be turned into her bedtime so by the time we landed it would essentially be her wake-up time. I was traveling to the South of France and the time difference was 6 hours. This is how I did it:

A) I put her to bed around 4:00pm and woke her up at 4:00am (10am in the South of France) in order to ease her into the new schedule.

B) I fed her breakfast at 4:00am so by 4:00pm she could have her dinner and sleep during the flight. This worked wonders! By the time we landed, she had slept 10 hours and was ready to go.

2. Change her sleep schedule during the trip:

Since dinners usually tend to be later in Europe, I decided to change her 6:00pm-6:00am sleep schedule to 12:00am-12:00pm. This was a great idea because we both slept in until noon every day and would go to sleep until midnight, meaning we didn’t miss any of the fun dinners, and the best part? Both my baby and I were well rested every “morning”. *This sleep schedule was also ideal because in theory her bedtime didn’t change at all, 6:00pm in Dallas was 12:00am in St Tropez.

3. Travel light:

The amount of gear you need to travel with when you have a baby multiplies x 10. Since I was traveling alone and I had rented a house on Airbnb, it meant I had to take everything myself. I sadly didn’t have a hotel concierge to get things ready for me in advance. However, I decided to be practical and shipped everything to the apartment before my arrival.

First off, I purchased a cheap assembled crib and sent it to the apartment. I rented a car with a car seat, I shipped via Amazon a baby bathtub, a bouncer and diapers. This ended up being about $300 total, but it was well worth it. It saved my back from carrying four suitcases across Europe.

4. Stroller:

I am all about aesthetics, which means an umbrella stroller was not going to cut it for me. I wanted to buy a light stroller I could check at the gate, but a durable and pretty one as well. As I usually do, I did my 27-hour research and found that Bugaboo Bee was the best and most stylish option out there for traveling. It folds with one click and it has a big basket for all your shopping bags and purse.

5. Ideal Airplane Seat:

Up until recently if you were traveling with an infant and you were not seated in a bassinet friendly seat, or purchased a seat for your baby, it meant you had to basically hold your baby in YOUR LAP for 10 hours. However, this is no longer true, you just need to have a seat in front of you for Flye Baby to work. This amazing travel baby gear (although not FAA approved yet) is a sort of a hammock that ties to the front seat all the way down to your waist, creating a little cocoon for your baby to sleep in. The use during take off and landing is prohibited.

6. Gifts every 30-minutes:

Some moms might think this is bribery in it’s purest from, which it is, and it actually works wonders for toddlers. My sister-in-law used to do this with her twin girls every flight, and I now live by it. Buy cheap toys and healthy sweets. Wrap each of them individually with a LOT of tape and a bow. Every 30-minutes give them one and let them unwrap it, they will LOVE IT. Kids will be so entertained that the flight will fly by, and you will be landing before you know it.

7. Post-its:

Want to entertain a child for 10 straight hours? Give them a full stack of post-it and colors. This might seem like nothing special to adults, but kids LOVE this. They might have 350 post-it all around their seat by the time you land, but it is a great way to entertain them and easy for the parents to clean up.

8. Apologize in advance:

This has to be the best advice I have received from new mommies. Make in advance little Sorry Bags and bring them with you to the flight. Write a note inside apologizing for the loud noises your baby might make, together with cheap headphones, chocolates and other goodies that you might think people would appreciate. Once people take their seats, start handing them out to the passengers in front, next to and behind you. This way hopefully no one will give you evil eyes if your little angel throws a fit. You will quickly realize that when traveling with an infant the personnel at the airports are always super helpful, while your fellow passengers are usually your enemies. Some passengers tend to forget they were kids once.

9. Diaper Bag Essentials:

Make sure you pack Infant Tylenol, a thermometer, extra diapers and a extra change of clothes in case of an accident.

*Last but not least, pray that your baby doesn’t decide to throw a fit out of the blue.
